Kelso Races

With thirteen fixtures in the season, Kelso is the home of National Hunt Racing, and its race goers are made to feel really welcome. They believe in looking after you in the proper manner, and Kelso was voted Britain's Friendliest Racecourse in a Sunday Times survey. The facilities are all you could want, whether you visit just to lay a fiver on the fourth race and grab a pint, or throw a smoked salmon reception in one of the private suites.

The racecourse itself is much the same as Cheltenham, although it is smaller. It has large, solid steeplechase fences and a long, punishing uphill run-in. Because of this many trainers use the January and February meetings as a trial for the National Hunt festival and Aintree, bringing top jumpers to the Borders race course.

Horse racing at Kelso offers the unique charm of a bygone era, with the best of modern facilities - a fantastic blend of all that is best in the old and the new. Add the friendliness of all at Kelso Races, the superb quality of National Hunt Racing and the picturesque surroundings and you will find it easy to understand the popularity of Kelso Race Course.
